(a). What is syllable ?

The syllable may be defined as one or more speech sounds forming a single uninterrupted unit of utterance which may be a whole word man: [ mæn ] or a part of word: morning [ mɔ/nɪŋ]; again [ə/ɡeɪn]

(b) How is it formed?

Syllable is formed by any vowel alone, or by vowel in combination with one or more consonants, by a word final sonorant immediately preceded by a consonant. Vd: table [ teɪbl].
